What it sounds like
F minor with a deep F2 ding an octave below most pans, a second and a flattened seventh, and no fourth or sixth. It feels vast and slow, perfect for meditation and ambient music.
Is it a good first handpan?
Maybe. The deep bass is wonderful, but low pans are harder to make and cost more.
Try it properly before you buy one. A real F Astronaut usually costs NZ$2,000 to 4,000 and makers often have months-long queues.
In Tonefield you can play it in 3D for free, loop yourself, add a beat, turn it into a song and film it in a world of its own,
on your phone or computer. No wrong notes.
