About Tonefield
Tonefield is a free handpan you play in your browser, made in Wellington, New Zealand by handpan player Ciaran Jack.
A handpan is one of the most beautiful instruments there is, and one of the hardest to get hold of: a good one costs thousands and often a long wait to get one. Tonefield puts thirteen real handpan scales in your hands for free, on a phone, tablet or computer, so anyone can hear what a handpan feels like, find the scale they love, and make music with it.
What you can do
- Play a 3D handpan with your thumbs, a mouse, a keyboard or a MIDI instrument, including electronic handpans.
- Loop and layer yourself, fix your timing in one tap, add a beat or a drone.
- Arrange your loops into songs and export audio, MIDI or stems for your own music software.
- Turn what you play into a cinematic video in a world made for your song.
Not the ToneField grid app
Tonefield (tonefield.app) is the handpan. It's not related to ToneField, the generative grid instrument for Mac and Windows from tonefield.com.au.
